» Feature Writer Cherie Burbach - Sex in the City Movie Predictions

Apparently the Sex in the City girls are coming out of retirment! Yea. Now, let's dish about predictions for the movie. I can't help myself:

· Miranda and Steve are still happily married, with Brady in tow. Steve's mother, who suffers from Alzheimer's, will be off in a home somewhere. Miranda will be a senior partner at her firm and Steve's bar will close due to his lack of ambition. He'll be a stay-at-home husband, watching cartoons all day while Miranda works her 60-hour week.

· Charlotte will be scouring the city for the best possible prep school for the baby daughter she adopted from China. Sure, the kid's probably only a few months old but you just can't start early enough for these things.

· Smith Jared and Samantha will have a baby. They won't marry, but will happily live together in a brand new apartment, complete with nursery and 3:00 a.m. feedings. Samantha will think she is going into menopause as her cycle suddenly goes into hiding, along to find out she's on the nest. She will freak out but Smith will reassure her and convince her to have the baby. He'll be by her side the entire time. Their daughter will have the perfect combination of her mother's confidence and her father's compassion and sensibility.

And now... for the moment you've been waiting for....

· Carrie and Big will be on the outs as the movie opens. (Are we surprised with this on-again, off-again pair?) Big will find out he has an illegitimate child and this will send the pair into a nosedive. They'll discuss kids and marriage, and will come out on opposite sides. To complicate things, Big's kid (a boy, of course) will be smitten with Carrie and want to do some serious mattress dancing with our curly-headed heroine. She'll think about it. But will she?

· Through all this Carrie will once again wonder about whether Big is worth her time. After all, he may have declared Carrie "his love" at the end of the series, but let's face it, that's a long way off telling her they're gonna get married and have some young ins. Even though Carrie has always claimed she wasn't sure about having a family, I think she does really want this and she wants it with Big.

Ta-da! These are my predictions! Thoughts anyone?
